About the Books
BOOK ONE: At the heart of this tale is Erskin, as the daughter of the Mountain keeper, Erskin and her family live in the shadow of Mountainfell – a place of dangerous creatures and wild magic. When a series of tremors disturbs the balance between villagers and the magic behind the wall, Erskin suspects that she will soon have more to worry about than her sister berating her for being weird. When the feared cloud dragon, the most powerful and deadly creature of all, snatches Erskin’s sister away, Erskin must face her greatest fear and journey onto the mountain to bring her back. A terrible power is stirring, and it is up to Erskin to save both her family and her home.
BOOK TWO:On a summer holiday in Wales, Portia and Ben find a mysterious door set in a bramble hedge in the middle of a forest. It is a portal to the Otherworld and should never be opened, but how are they supposed to know that? After all, the old stories about the wonders and dangers of the Otherworld have long been forgotten. For Robin Goodfellow, the man with the fox shadow, the children are his last chance to open the portal and finally return home. But for everyone else, the door spells great danger.
Alongside these two enchanting books, each box contains signed bookplates and letters from the authors, Chronicle pages including games and activities and a few themed surprises. A follow-up podcast episode will include Q&As with the authors and a book group chat with our school Pod Squad.
