    Parties are a lot of fun, but planning them can be a bit stressful! Here's a list of five books about parties or celebrations that don't go to plan, but are all the more entertaining for it!

    1 | PARTY SHOES BY NOEL STREATFEILD :
    In Noel Streatfeild’s classic story from 1946, Selina receives a wonderful gift in the post from her American godmother: a party dress and matching shoes. There’s just one problem: living with her relatives in rural England in the midst of a World War, there isn’t anywhere to wear it! She and her cousins come up with a plan – to hold a pageant to give her the opportunity to wear her new outfit.

    2 | THE GREAT GATSBY BY F. SCOTT FITZGERALD AND ADAPTED BY LYNNE WILSON-BAILEY :
    F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic 1925 novel has been reimagined by Lynne Wilson-Bailey to introduce this classic to younger readers. Set in New York in 1922, the novel tells the story of the extremely wealthy Jay Gatsby, famous for throwing extravagant parties. As well as adapting the original novel to be accessible for young readers, the book also includes information boxes about life in the Roaring Twenties to provide context for the story!

    This brilliant anthology not only features short stories, but poetry, illustrations and even a graphic novel chapter all centred around the day of Eid. Edited by S.K.
